About Greg Murtagh

Greg Murtagh is a seasoned business executive located in Florida. With over 40 years of business experience, Murtagh has earned recognition as an expert in digital media, retail and consumer packaged goods (CPG) marketing, retail media, and monetization.

He is broadly credited in the advertising industry as being one of the first people to create an RMN (Retail Media Network). Today, RMNs are the fastest-growing part of the online media spend for big brands and generate billions of dollars in profit for retailers worldwide. Murtagh has worked with many of the world’s largest retailers, advising them in advertising, web publishing, and eCommerce strategies.

Currently retired, Murtagh was the founder and CEO of Triad Retail Media, a Florida-based media company established in 2004. Triad was one of the first companies to deliver data-targeted brand advertising on retail eCommerce websites. This led to huge growth and helped Triad gain inclusion in INC Magazine’s “Fastest Growing US Companies” lists. During his time with Triad, Murtagh worked with leading retailers like Walmart, eBay, Toys R Us, CVS, and Sam’s Club.

Prior to Triad, Greg Murtagh began his career in sales with Procter & Gamble (Richardson-Vicks) and marketing at Dial Corp. He held various roles in sales, retail merchandising, brand management and shopper marketing within the CPG industry before becoming an early entrepreneur on the Internet in the mid-1990s. Murtagh leveraged his past professional experiences to become a pioneering figure in the early digital media space, launching one of the sector’s first digital marketing agencies (eMarketing, Inc.) in 1998. This helped set the stage for the creation of early digital media strategies and techniques that continue to define the industry today.

Murtagh holds a Bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from The Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
